BetterWorld was up at Reno’s Silver Legacy hotel and casino at the 2009 AIRS Conference. The Alliance of Information and Referral Systems is the driving force behind the development of clear and consistent professional standards that benchmark every aspect of quality I&R. I was there to learn more about 2-1-1, a partner of AIRS and United Way that provides free and confidential information and referrals for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more. There are currently 236 2-1-1 centers throughout North America, and 2-1-1 service is available to about 80% of communities in the US. BetterWorld’s solutions will be helpful for achieving the goal of seamless access to local 2-1-1, and we look forward to serving them as an invaluable network and service for health and strength of local communities.
